The Meaning Of Trees
I have just finished producing my first Folio of 10 prints in a limited edition of 10 copies. I watched the first part of an on-line workshop on how to produce a small folio of prints a couple of months ago and thought "What a great idea, I'll do that!"
Over 4 hours of watching on-line video, several visits to the artist materials shop, some searching on the web, a period of experimentation to find the right layout, lots of calculations of millimeters, some difficult choices, and a few expressions of frustration by use of colourful language later and I have created my first Folio. It is called 'The Meaning Of Trees' and I am very pleased with the result. You can have a look at the images I chose in the flickr slideshow below.
This folio was made in an edition of 10 copies in November 2011. The image size is 18.5 x 12.3cm and the paper size is 21.5 x 17cm. I printed the images myself on a Canon iPF5000 printer, using the Lucia pigment inkset. The paper used was Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Bright White, 308gm. The folio is handmade from 300gm, acid free, fine art paper. There are 4 pages of text included in the box. There are 7 copies available for sale at £59 + postage. February 2009 - TPN Book Published
After several months of preparing submissions, judging the entries and editing them, the TPN book has been published. TPN is the travelphotographers website that I contribute to on a regular basis. It is an excellent place for the travelphotographer to get good, honest feedback on their images, read informative articles about places, techniques, equipment, etc. The friends I have made there certainly helped me to become a better photographer.
The book contains some of the best work from this site and I am honoured to have three of my images included. Not only will you get excellent photography when you buy this book, but you will also get some good information about how these images were created.
My latest book published on Blurb!
A good portrait shows us a more of a person than just the photons reflecting off their face. By capturing that one fleeting moment the photographer can show us more of who the subject is, of how they feel, of their state of mind, of their character. That's what I have tried to do in my latest book, Expressions.
