Istanbul, Haghia Sophia

Another shot of this beautiful building, this time on the inside. The sun was scorching outside (about 37 Celcius) and inside it was not a great deal cooler. I had to wait a while until one, and only one, of my fellow visitors was walking into the frame. My 'default' mode of thinking in situations like this used to be to wait until there are no people in the frame. Lately I have come to appreciate that people can add to a scene like this rather than be a distracting, out of place, element. You do have to make more of an effort to compose the person into the scene where they fit and if you don't know them and don't want to 'direct' them that can take some time. This one took about 20 minutes (I could do with a sit down anyway...)
