Jars

In Marrakech I went inside a chemist shop selling traditional medicines. There was a whole wall of shelves with these jars on them. I could only guess what most of the medicines were. I don't know what the coloured water was for, but it smelled very nice. The shopkeeper was very friendly and explained what some of the herbs and other items were for. The dried salamanders on sale were to assess whether the treatment was working: throw one on a fire and if it burns up quickly the medication is working, if it does not you need to try something else. I did not ask what the live tortoises were for.
