This is one of the many hilltop towns and villages that are so characteristic of the Provence. At some point the building on the left used to be the local bakery, as evidenced by the faded lettering on the wall.
I wonder how many footsteps have given the cobbles their shine, how many people walked along this alley? How many people have bought their daily loaf of bread in that shop?
