East Berlin has changed much since the re-unification of Germany. It is no longer easily recognisable, or different from West Berlin. Huge investments in big building projects have changed the appearance from a drab, somber, communist looking place into a very businesslike, glitzy, commercial, new, fast moving environment that is indistinguishable from any other western city centre.
